I was reading some articles and comments about her saying that this war is waged in the name of God. Woah, what the hell is going on here. I’m really embarrassed when people say I look like a young version of her (sorry but I’m so much more beautiful than that) and this is why. Those who like her refuse to look at her words as what they are… crazy. And she’s pulling at the pride strings of all who worship God because if anyone says anything negative against this statement they will immediately feel insulted and attacked. Idiots. Of course, if she had said that it was in the name of Allah, Buddha, or Krishna, trust me when I say that she’d be dead by now.

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jNulPSqaP1eyysv8ENJWhk0ZSrPgD92VJPL00

Here would have been my comment if I had been able to post it.

By waging war in the name of God we’re no better than the Islamic extremists we’re fighting. They use their beliefs to wage war and so would she. There’s a reason why church and state should be separate and without someone who represents the whole of the country we’re all going to be royally screwed. I’m not saying Obama is representative of us all but at least he is of the best of us, I hope. We need to step forward and not go backward as a society. Freedom isn’t about being forced to die because of someone else’s beliefs. It is fine for one to believe them, but never for one moment should anyone think that it’s OK to impose that belief on those who have others. We all believe something one way or another so not only is it rude to turn the pain and fear these children endure in the battlefield into God’s will, but it is an unacceptable attitude for someone who could potentially influence the country, and the world. I hope that people have the common sense to realize that we need to save our people and not turn this country into some religious military crusade base.

I was watching an ad about how technology can fix some of the problems carelessness has caused such as dead zones in the ocean. The first thing that came to mind when I saw these huge mixers in the middle of the ocean was that the planet looked like it was on life support. First we run it over with a truck and then we think that we can fix it by connecting it to machines to keep it alive. Sorry but minimizing the symptoms is not the way to go. Fix the problem at the source before this planet becomes a complete cyborg monstrosity.

So my boyfriend’s mother wanted to take me to this thing called Critical Tits at Burning Man. Already I was a bit creeped out by it since instead of calling them breasts they called them tits. Which makes me think that this was some guy’s idea. Of course he said it was all about ‘empowerment’ and what not. I’m not a femminist and I really don’t need to feel empowered. I’d rather be known for doing something with my mind instead of going around with painted boobs. And, I don’t want to see anyone else’s boobies thank you very much. When I went to the hot springs in Japan I tried very hard not to focus on their boobs and politely spoke to their FACES. I don’t care if someone else wants to go around flashing their boobsickles but please leave me out of it. And when they say it isn’t about sex, then try convincing the walls of perverted boners with huge cameras taking pictures of just their breasts. Funny how all of them are guys. I was reading some posts at the playa forum and a good number of the girls stopped participating because they had guys taking pictures. How could you not expect guys to start flocking toward your breasts at first sight? I doubt any of those guys care that it is all in the name of empowerment. What is so empowering about going topless, getting your boobs burnt, caked with playa sand, chapped, dry and painful, and photographed for the whole world to see. Might as well get paid and have them shown on Girls Gone Wild. It seems like the idea of empowerment has gone awry in this day and age. The new century has nothing to be remembered by so this is a failed attempt to try and top the hippies of the 60s, the afros of the 70s and the mental retardation of the 80s. Boobies aren’t the new bell bottoms, or tie-dyes, or mood rings. They’re breasts. They’re something that I don’t feel I have to advertise. They’re mine and nobody else has any business checking them out other than my boyfriend. I chose who to show and the only person that derserves to is him. Nobody else. Now, that’s empowerment.

I feel bad for these girls, but remember, if you put your ‘tits’ out there then be ready to deal with the attention. It isn’t like it’s illegal for those guys to take a pic of your knockers. Here’s the post.

http://eplaya.burningman.com/viewtopic.php?t=10934

If anyone feels like they need to explain why this makes them feel empowered, and what empowerment actually means, go ahead and post here. I wouldn’t mind discussing this topic.

What I do think empowerment would mean to me if I did believe in it is not having to shave my armpits, legs and unibrow and be seen for my natural beauty. Maybe I should go around with long airmpit and leg hair and a full blown unibrow. I ‘empower’ myself by being successful, by doing what I want, by caring for someone important, and by being able to be on great terms with everyone I know regardless of them being a co-worker, the janitor, a bus driver, or someone very annoying.

I also found this interesting.

http://eplaya.burningman.com/viewtopic.php?t=15944&start=30&sid=3a996dd88fc041d42cea8de2db47f0fc

Really. What’s the point of this ride? Why can’t I do it with my body covered and protected? (Not that I can ride since I have a bad knee injury that prevents me from doing so)

Oh, and I’m not going to say this but here’s a quote from that page. “Havent adult women been dealing with assholes most of their lives? I am not defending gawkers here, but arent the ladies that are naked in a parade, in costume whatever asking to be looked at?”

And one more thing. WHAT’S SO CRITICAL ABOUT THEM?

Now these shoes have been around for a while and only recently have I really noticed them. Since I started working at the airport I’ve seen more people wearing neon colored boats on their feet than normal shoes. Given that they have to take them off at the checkpoint but still, I have a pair of Dr. Scholl’s that are slip ons and are very comfortable not to mention there are normal looking airwalks being sold around town which would also fulfill the comfort factor as well as the easy removal and unbeatable style factors. I do own a pair of crocs but they are in the Alice style and I only wear them aruond the house, to the pool, or to Wal Mart unless I’m particularly plasticky that day but for some reason, on those days I wish to pull of a neon emo outfit (doesn’t matter if I wore a burlap bag, I’d still pull it off) I’d rather wear the Walmart Knockoffs they sell for 8 dollars and that look like that new style of tennis shoe. Quite comfy…

Now, maybe I’m missing something with the real thing. I’ve found that my Alice style crocs aren’t as comfy as the cheap ass Walmart foam stuff but maybe it is just a matter of the way the shoe is built? Maybe the huge colorful boats have something going for them comfort-wise? I can’t seem to find any affordable crocs from a reliable source so I haven’t purchased these boat cheese things. I do see sites where people have offered to send others a pair of these shoes as long as they wore them for a certain amount of time etc… and honestly, if I knew anyone who would truely do that free of charge I might even try the darned things. Of course I’m not allowed to wear them at work so it would have to be to the two other activities I have time to do such as laundry and grociery shopping… oh and tennis at 5 am. I’m not counting on finding anyone to send me a pair but right now I’m waiting for a bluetooth headset from New York that I purchased from Overstock and it still hasn’t even shipped… so yeah. I’m bored. I’d be willing to try them, but not buy them.

AAAAAAAAH TOO BAD THEY DON’T HAVE ANY SUITABLE FOR BURNING MAN! I don’t want dirt in my feet, that’s why I always hated sandals.

Many of us have seen those animal cruelty slaughterhouse videos. It is sad, but when it comes to vegetarianism, it has nothing to do with anything.

I don’t really have an opinion about vegetarians, but I do get bothered by people who find it offensive that I have my necessary portion of meat. I don’t exceptionally like meat, in fact, I’m a carboholic, which unfortunately means I am at a higher risk for cancer if I don’t back off those cancer cell feeders… so I try to incorporate natural non-processed meat as much as I can. Now, while doing some research out of boredom I came across a forum where people where bashing meat eaters. None of the ‘information’ provided could have ever convinced me to become a vegetarian because there was no scientific basis and the arguments used were not only ridiculous but all out ignorant. That said, not all vegetarians have become vegetarians because of PETA’s scary propaganda, but there are those who are bound by this diet because of religious reasons. I respect that just as much as I respect someone not wanting surgery or medical attention because of religious reasons. I’m not being sarcastic. Some people cherish their soul more than their body and that in itself can help someone live longer. But people need to be very careful about denying themselves meat. After reading these PETA supporters’ arguments, I really couldn’t think of any counter-arguments myself since I didn’t do much research on the matter… until I found this scientific formal article that point per pointaddresses each issue and does a great job of proving why a vegetarian diet is not only bad for the environment, but a cause for numerous health problems. I don’t need to summarize the article because I shouldn’t be doing the reading for you. I advise you to read the article attentively and thoroughly (and please do not comment on it until you’ve read it completely and can quote directly from it) and I hope that you think about what damage people are doing to their bodies. It is not meat that’s the enemy, it is the inefficient and unnatural methods of farming that are. And here is the aforementioned article found at http://www.westonaprice.org/mythstruths/mtvegetarianism.html.

The Myths of Vegetarianism

by Stephen Byrnes, PhD, RNCP

Originally published in the Townsend Letter for Doctors & Patients, July 2000. Revised January 2002.

“An unflinching determination to take the whole evidence into account is the only method of preservation against the fluctuating extremes of fashionable opinion.”—Alfred North Whitehead

Bill and Tanya sat before me in my office in a somber mood: they had just lost their first baby in the second month of pregnancy. Tanya was particularly upset. “Why did this happen to me? Why did I miscarry my baby?” The young couple had come to see me mostly because of Tanya’s recurrent respiratory infections, but also wanted some advice as to how they could avoid the heartache of another failed pregnancy.

Upon questioning Tanya about her diet, I quickly saw the cause of her infections, as well as her miscarriage: she had virtually no fat in her diet and was also mostly a vegetarian. Because of the plentiful media rhetoric about the supposed dangers of animal product consumption, as opposed to the alleged health benefits of the vegetarian lifestyle, Tanya had deliberately removed such things as cream, butter, meats and fish from her diet. Although she liked liver, she avoided it due to worries over “toxins.”

Tanya and Bill left with a bottle of vitamin A, other supplements and a dietary prescription that included plentiful amounts of animal fats and meat. Just before leaving my office, Tanya looked at me and said ruefully: “I just don’t know what to believe sometimes. Everywhere I look there is all this low-fat, vegetarian stuff recommended. I followed it, and look what happened.” I assured her that if she and her husband changed their diets and allowed sufficient time for her weakened uterus to heal, they would be happy parents in due time. In November 2000, Bill and Tanya happily gave birth to their first child, a girl.

The Evolution of a Myth

Along with the unjustified and unscientific saturated fat and cholesterol scares of the past several decades has come the notion that vegetarianism is a healthier dietary option for people. It seems as if every health expert and government health agency is urging people to eat fewer animal products and consume more vegetables, grains, fruits and legumes. Along with these exhortations have come assertions and studies supposedly proving that vegetarianism is healthier for people and that meat consumption is associated with sickness and death. Several authorities, however, have questioned these data, but their objections have been largely ignored.

As we shall see, many of the vegetarian claims cannot be substantiated and some are simply false and dangerous. There are benefits to vegetarian diets for certain health conditions, and some people function better on less fat and protein, but, as a practitioner who has dealt with several former vegetarians and vegans (total vegetarians), I know full well the dangerous effects of a diet devoid of healthful animal products. It is my hope that all readers will more carefully evaluate their position on vegetarianism after reading this paper.

Myth #1: Meat consumption contributes to famine and depletes the Earth’s natural resources.

Myth #2: Vitamin B12 can be obtained from plant sources.

Myth #3: Our needs for vitamin D can be met by sunlight.

Myth #4: The body’s needs for vitamin A can be entirely obtained from plant foods.

Myth #5: Meat-eating causes osteoporosis, kidney disease, heart disease, and cancer.

Myth #6: Saturated fats and dietary cholesterol cause heart disease, atherosclerosis, and/or cancer, and low-fat, low-cholesterol diets are healthier for people.

Myth #7: Vegetarians live longer and have more energy and endurance than meat-eaters.

Myth #8: The “cave man” diet was low-fat and/or vegetarian. Humans evolved as vegetarians.

Myth #9: Meat and saturated fat consumption have increased in the 20th century, with a corresponding increase in heart disease and cancer.

Myth #10: Soy products are adequate substitutes for meat and dairy products.

Myth #11: The human body is not designed for meat consumption.

Myth #12: Eating animal flesh causes violent, aggressive behavior in humans.

Myth #13: Animal products contain numerous, harmful toxins.

Myth #14: Eating meat or animal products is less “spiritual” than eating only plant foods.

Myth #15: Eating animal foods is inhumane.

It always surprises me when someone posts a video of their cat doing tricks, as if somehow that made them the most amazing cat in the world. My boyfriend’s cat, just like any other cat, I’m sure, will easily shake either paw, roll over, sit, and get up for a treat. She will come when called and will make quacking sounds or pathetic little meows when she wants something. She won’t stop following me even to the bathroom and is just way too active. Who came up with the stupid idea that cats are independent, never want to be around people, and… oh my god, she won’t stop staring at me. She stares at my soul… my poor harmless soul. She rolls over and exposes her tummy trying to be cute… always… that mottled face half black half Garfield… OMG SHE’S EATING MY LEGS!

And yes — blogging is the root of all evil.

Hybrid cars. Of course someone had to find SOMETHING wrong with them. Of course, it isn’t like we don’t have real problems like war and global warming to deal with but somehow those real ones are twisted and turned against the educated public. But getting back to hybrids… who in their right mind would go out of their way to find some lame excuse to attack something that’s meant to save all our sorry asses? I think we all know who the culprit is so I really don’t need to bitch about it. Enough bitching has been done to power 500 atomic bombs yet nothing has been done about it (take for example our last election!). So I go to the Yahoo! news website and to my amazement I find an article featured on the front page titled Hybrid Cars Pose Risk to Blind, Visually Impaired. Woah, slow down there. Not just cars, but HYBRIDS? It’s like saying that it isn’t guns that kill people, or even that people kill people, but that Michael Richards who lives on 23rd Street and works at McDonalds kills people — with an AK47. Now, their point (one and only) is clearly stated. Blind people can’t see the cars coming, and the hybrids, being quieter than say, a turbo charged SUV, can be hard to detect by these blind people. I’m guessing the high death toll of blind people being hit by Hybrid cars must have triggered this scare. Wait… no? What? Just as many blind people are killed by regular cars than they are by these killer hybrids….????? WHAT??? IT CAN’T BE!!! This can’t be true… my dreams of running down blind people with my ultra quiet… GAS GUZZLING LUXURY SEDAN? WHAT? So let me get this straight — quiet cars have existed for a while now. Of course, most of them could only be owned by rich white men in the form of these luxury cars but now that the enviornmentally concious crazies have an oportunity to partake in this mass blind people bowling bonanza people start to get upset! OR… is it something else? Could it be that maybe, just maybe, a certain group of people… say… gas companies and those who benefit from their revenue could be getting a little upset that some might refuse to not only be victims of price gauging, but just know better. This planet isn’t going to save itself. And just for your information, the reason cars ARE quiet is because that’s what consumers want.

There’s a whole business involved in making cars quieter! Now, if Hybrids are forced to noise up, then it is only fair to completely destroy the rest of this industry by forcing other car companies to make their cars annoying and irritatingly noisy.

http://ezinearticles.com/?Drivers-Want-Quiet-Cars&id=507220

http://www.quietcar.net/

http://www.vre.org/service/quiet-cars.htm

And instead of making it hard on hybrids, how about investing some money into making the streets blind friendly. Haven’t seen many blind people get killed in Japan. I usually listen to know if a car is behind me and even if the car has a quiet engine I can definitely hear the tires rolling around on the asphalt. Install some sort of warning system for blind people (such as indentations in the road to make sound when a car is approaching) or better yet someone can take this opportunity and invent a radar that can detect high speed movement from any direction and will warn the blind person. Stop using disabled people to attack something you don’t like. Grow up and stop being so dramatic.

You think you have everything set with your Cricket account? Think again!

If you think you’ve chosen the best plan to fit your needs think again. I had picked the 40 a month plan which only included unlimited anytime minutes, text messaging, pic/vid messaging, and US long distance. Then I added for 5 a month, unlimited web and for 3 a month caller ID, answering machine, and call waiting. And guess what… today I go online to purchase credits for a game and they’ve changed the damn plan list on me… BUT NOT MINE.

Now their 40 a month includes unlimited minutes, US long distance (INCLUDING HAWAII ETC…), unlimited us text and pic messg, unlimited VOICE MAIL CALLER ID, CALL WAITING AND 3 WAY CALLING! And of course the 45 a month one included web access… so not only did they make the plans cheaper but they kept having me pay the same amount without adding the extra services and STILL charging me for 1 extra that I should have had for FREE! For how long, I don’t know.

So print out your current plan and included features plus extras you may have and then print out the current plans and included services AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!!! You can’t turn your back on Cricket because they will rip you off. I was paying nearly 55 a month for something I should have been paying barely 48 a month!

GAH! I hope there isn’t anyone out there that doesn’t check these things. Cricket will not tell you about the changes that THEY WON’T APPLY TO YOUR ACCOUNT unless you go do it yourself. Go to a dealer and get a discount. Also, where the hell is my rebate and why did they discount my Kyocera Lingo over and over again right AFTER I bought it!!!

DAMN YOU!

So to wrap it up, this is what I signed up for…

40 a month – cricket choice

Unlimited anytime minutes

text messaging

pic vid messaging

unlimited us long distance

Plus: Voice messaging, call waiting, caller ID – $3

Unlimited web – $5

What the current plans look like

40 dollar online special

Unlimited anytime minutes

us long distance

us text pic and vid

voice, caller id, call waiting and 3 way

The top one was what they gave me for 40 dollars and didn’t give me the features currently available.

I had to CALL THEM! Not even the website would let me switch. It’s like it KNEW I WAS TRYING TO GET RID OF THE RIP OFF PLAN THAT NO LONGER EVEN EXISTED!

I need a beer.
